Cold insulations are often confused with hot insulations in industry. Loss and leakage from hot insulation applications is only as much as the incorrectly applied place, but in cold insulation applications, since the cold environment creates a vacuum effect, it draws moisture from its surroundings and moisture spreads under the insulation along the line. It causes deterioration in insulation. Cold insulations are applied to prevent heat gain. The target is to stay below 40W/m2.
